Penny Stocks Terms II
NASDAQ - is a term used to refer to a stock exchange where stocks are being traded. It stands for National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations.

NASDAQ Small Cap - a term used to refer to a section of the NASDAQ stock exchange where companies that have smaller capitalization trade their stocks. Usually, the corporations that fail to meet the standards or requirements set by NASDAQ trade on NASDAQ Small Cap. Majority of the stocks that trade in NASDAQ Small Cap have a share price between $1.00 to $5.00.

OTC (Over The Counter) Stocks - a term used to describe stocks that are not traded in a regulated stock exchange.

OTCBB (Over The Counter Bulletin Board) - a term used to refer to a quotation service that is regulated and that provides last sale prices, volume information as well as real time quotes. Stocks that are not traded in any of the major stock exchanges trade in the OTCBB.

Paper Trading - a term used to refer to an exercise where you use paper or imaginary money to trade stocks that are really traded in the stock market. Paper trading is designed to help the investor to practice stock trading without losing any money but gaining the skills and learning the ropes of stock exchange.

Partial Fill - a term used to describe a situation wherein an investor wanted to buy or sell a certain number of stocks but failed to. An example would be when an investor I wanted to buy 200 shares of stock S at $1.00 per share but was only able to buy 100 shares of stock S.

Pink Sheets - a term used to refer to stocks that are traded without any regulation or requirements. Investments in the Pink Sheets are generally frowned upon.

Risk Tolerance - a term used to describe an investor's quality which measures how much he is willing to speculate and put at risk his investment.

Short Selling - is a term used to describe a strategy where the investor sells the stocks with the obligation of buying them back at a future date.

Small Cap Stock - is a term that refers to stocks that are owned by small cap corporations or small capitalization corporations. Small Cap corporations are worth only a few million dollars as compared to Large Cap corporations that are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Speculation - a term which means to risk or take a chance or gamble your investment on a stock or corporation.

Spread - a term which means the difference between the ask and bid prices.

Stock Screening - a term used which means to examine and pick stocks that you want to invest in. It involves narrowing the list of stocks into a few choice picks based on certain criteria.

Takeover - a term used when a corporation buys all the stocks of another corporation with the intention of owning, acquiring and managing the sold out corporation.

Technical Analysis - is the term used to describe a method of analyzing stocks that involves examining price charts to determine price patterns and trends?
