Where Penny Stocks Trade I
So you've decided to trade penny stocks and enter the crazy world of penny stock exchange but you ask yourself, where can I find penny stocks and where are they traded? Which penny stock exchanges are safe and which are not? You've searched for a list to enlighten you on this matter but you find none that are sufficient and complete enough. To help you in your predicament I have prepared a list of stock exchanges where penny stocks are traded.

By far the best place to find penny stocks and the safest to trade penny stocks is the NASDAQ SmallCap Market. The NASDAQ SmallCap Market requires participating companies to follow a reporting requirement where small cap corporations are forced to reveal their financial situation and company policies to the potential investor. For an eager penny stock investor such as yourself, this is good news as you can at least find some viable information that you can use in your fundamental analysis. Also, the news services and quotes cover penny stocks that are being traded in the NASDAQ SmallCap Market, helping you get informed of the latest price movements of your penny stocks. Penny stocks in the NASDAQ SmallCap Market are great for your broker too as they are easy to buy and sell and information about the penny stock and the company is abundant. Most NASDAQ SmallCap Market penny stocks start trading at $1.00. If they go below this limit, they are usually forced to change stock exchanges to the OTCBB.

The AMEX or American Stock Exchange is also a great and safe place to get penny stocks. Penny stocks may not be traded in AMEX as much as in the NASDAQ SmallCap Market but the corporations listed are also bound by reporting requirements thereby giving AMEX investors sufficient data about penny stocks for future analysis. Buying and selling of penny stocks are also easily conducted in AMEX with sufficient news coverage and penny stock quotes for continous update of penny stock price movements.

If you are into trading across borders the Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) and Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) are also good places to trade penny stocks. They offer extremely inexpensive penny stocks with some being traded for only a few cents. The CDNX and TSX offer a wide variety of penny stocks to choose from and like AMEX and NASDAQ, they also provide reporting requirements and offer financial data about their listed corporations. Penny stock trading and price information are also available making CDNX and TSX a good place to trade penny stocks.

A lot riskier stock exchange but also is home to penny stocks is the OTCBB or the Over-The-Counter Bulletin Board. OTCBB is a stock exchange for stocks that are not traded in any of the national securities exchage or NASDAQ. OTCBB gives the investors real-time quotes, volume data as well as last-sale prices in over-the-counter (OTC) equity services. OTCBB is home to about 3,600 securities with more than 300 market makers. The OTCBB also displays interest and previous trading activity.
